Accident – Death – Obituary News :
A 26-year-old woman from Genesee County, Michigan, has been charged for her alleged involvement in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a 26-year-old man. The tragic incident took place in the area of Kelly Road and N. Elms Road near Flushing.
The Mt. Morris Township Police Department responded to a call about a pedestrian crash on Sunday, June 9, at 10:26 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the victim, Sebastian Klein, lying on the south side of Kelly Road. Despite the efforts of paramedics, Klein was pronounced dead at the scene.
During their investigation, the police discovered a passenger side mirror belonging to a Chrysler vehicle at the scene. Through further examination of Flock Safety Cameras, officers were able to identify a Jeep that had no passenger side damage the day before the incident. However, on the day following the incident, the same Jeep was missing a passenger side mirror and had front fender damage.
On June 12, officers and detectives searched the area near the scene and located the Jeep parked in the employee parking lot of a nursing home in Flushing. The owner of the Jeep, identified as Cheyenne White, was taken into custody for questioning. During the interview, White admitted to hitting Klein but claimed she didn’t think she hit him that hard. Shockingly, White failed to stop and render aid or call 911, leaving Klein to die on the side of the road.
On June 14, Cheyenne White was formally charged with failure to stop at a scene resulting in serious impairment of death, a felony offense. She is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, June 27, at 8:30 a.m. for a probable cause conference.
