On Sunday, the lifeless body of a woman was discovered in Mithila Municipality, Dhanusha, sending shockwaves through the community. The deceased, identified as 27-year-old Rubi Yadav, had been reported missing from Mahendranagar on June 8.
According to spokesperson Ranjan Awale of Dhanusha Police, the body was callously discarded near a river bank in the community forest of Mithila Municipality. The investigation led to the arrest of Rubi’s husband, Raju Yadav, who allegedly confessed to her murder.
Raju Yadav had initially filed a missing person report on June 8, 2024, claiming that his wife had not returned home since that morning. However, suspicions arose among neighbors and law enforcement officials, leading to a closer scrutiny of Raju’s actions.
After being taken into custody, Raju Yadav admitted to the crime, revealing that he had taken Rubi to Aurahi Baba’s temple where he committed the heinous act on the same day she went missing. The police are currently conducting further investigations into the case.
The community is in mourning as Rubi’s body has been transferred to the Provincial Hospital in Janakpur for a postmortem examination. The tragic incident has left many shocked and saddened by the loss of a young life in such a brutal manner.
