CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. — A young man from Charlotte tragically lost his life after drowning at Jordan Lake in Chatham County late Saturday night.
According to the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders received a distress call and were dispatched to the lake around 11:45 p.m.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Pradip Kumar Bhujel.
Reports from Bhujel’s friends indicate that they were enjoying a fishing trip at the lake when the incident occurred. They explained that Bhujel had waded into the water and suddenly disappeared from their sight.
Upon receiving the call for help, first responders immediately initiated a search operation in the area where Bhujel was last seen. Tragically, his lifeless body was discovered and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
