Accident – Death – Obituary News :
Virginia State Police are currently conducting an investigation into a tragic single-vehicle crash that resulted in the loss of a man’s life in Pittsylvania County.
The incident took place on Friday, June 15, at approximately 3:41 p.m. along Route 729, located just half a mile south of Route 726.
Reports from the scene indicate that a 2010 GMC Yukon was travelling northbound on Route 729 when it suddenly veered off the right side of the road. The driver, identified as Kevin Lamont Ballard, a 37-year-old resident of Ringgold, Virginia, attempted to regain control of the vehicle but unfortunately crossed the roadway and ended up overturning.
Tragically, Mr. Ballard was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and, as a result, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The Virginia State Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the exact cause of the incident.
