Jithin Kalloor : “Teen Boy Abducted: Three Arrested for Assault”

Kochi: Vadakkekara police have apprehended three individuals for the alleged abduction and assault of a 16-year-old boy in a vehicle.

The individuals in custody have been identified as Jithin Kalloor (35), Jiju Puthenpuraykal (43), and Harishankar Kaduvankal (26), all residents of Thrikkadappally near Pallipuram.

According to the authorities, the motive behind the abduction and assault appears to stem from a longstanding dispute between two minors. Despite efforts by the parents and teachers to mediate the conflict, a resolution was not reached, leading to the drastic actions taken by the accused.

The victim was coerced by the perpetrators to meet them in the Parayad area under the threat of violence at his residence. Upon the boy’s arrival, he was forcefully dragged into a Multi-Utility Vehicle (MUV) and subsequently driven to the Cherai Padam area, where he was reportedly assaulted inside the vehicle.

The assailants proceeded to intimidate the boy, instructing him to procure a transfer certificate from his school and depart. Ultimately, the abductors left the boy near the premises of the Munambam police station.

Upon receiving information about the abduction, the Vadakkekara police swiftly tracked down the perpetrators and rescued the boy. The vehicle used in the crime was impounded as evidence.

The investigative team comprised Vadakkekara Inspector K R Biju, sub-inspectors P K Vinod, V M Razaq, T S Girish, Abhilash, Jayakrishnan, along with senior civil police officers P D Praveen Das, P B Sreekanth, Sethunath, Aneesh Kumar, Naveen C John, and Jinumon.

The accused were presented before the court and subsequently remanded in judicial custody.

In a separate incident, Muvattupuzha police detained a 45-year-old individual, Mohammed Faisal of Erattupetta, Kottayam, for allegedly burglarizing a locked residence in broad daylight and pilfering approximately Rs 1 lakh. This incident transpired near Vallakalil Junction in Muvattupuzha.

It has come to light that Mohammed Faisal has a history of theft and burglary offenses registered against him in various police stations across Erattupetta, Ettumanoor, Kottayam West, Ramapuram, Gandhinagar, Kanjirappally, Thidanad, Palarivattom, Kozhikode Vellayil, and Maradu in Ernakulam.
