Accident – Death – Obituary News :
Human remains discovered inside a Pennsylvania residence have been confirmed to be those of the former girlfriend of a man who was recently found guilty of murdering his wife, authorities have disclosed.
Brian Bradley Giles, aged 48, from Johnstown, was convicted on June 6 for first-degree murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death of his wife, Nancy Giles, as per court records.
Nancy Giles went missing in October 2018, and her remains were unearthed in May 2019 in a shallow grave near a trail in Johnstown, The Tribune-Democrat reported.
Following his conviction, investigators located human remains buried in the basement of Giles’ previous residence the next day, as revealed in a June 13 news conference shared by WJAC.
Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees has identified the skeletal remains as Jilly Todaro, Giles’ former girlfriend who had been missing since December 2020. Lees has declared Todaro’s death as a homicide but did not provide further details regarding the cause of death.
Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer expressed relief at the discovery of Todaro’s remains but also sadness at the confirmation of their fears. He mentioned that charges are expected to be filed soon and indicated that there is only one suspect in connection with Todaro’s death.
Neugebauer shared that specific information led to the search of the home for a second time, and additional details are contained in a sealed search warrant, as mentioned during the news conference.
Johnstown is situated approximately 65 miles east of Pittsburgh.
