INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Authorities in Indianapolis have announced a significant development in a 2022 homicide case, with the arrest of a 31-year-old man in connection with the crime.
According to reports, on the early morning of Nov. 21, 2022, Indianapolis police responded to reports of gunfire in the 3800 block of North Temple Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a man, later identified as 23-year-old Dayeon Mallory by the Marion County Coroner’s Office, with gunshot wounds in a grassy area.
Tragically, despite being rushed to a hospital, Mallory succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
Following an extensive investigation, detectives were able to identify Dontae Robinson, aged 31, as a suspect in the case. Subsequently, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office filed murder charges against Robinson on Monday, leading to the issuance of a warrant for his arrest.
On Friday, law enforcement officers successfully located and apprehended Robinson without any further incidents.
Despite the arrest, the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting continues as authorities work diligently to gather additional details.
