Accident – Death – Obituary News :

On January 23, IMPD Northwest District officers responded to a call at an area hospital regarding an adult male who had sustained battery injuries. Tragically, on March 31, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff. The Marion County Coroner’s Office has now officially ruled the case as a homicide.

The incident took place in January on the 4900 block of Media Drive in Indianapolis’ northwest side. Following the investigation, IMPD arrested a suspect, 53-year-old William Spann Jr. With the assistance of the IMPD SWAT team, Spann Jr. was apprehended without any further incidents.

Initially, Spann Jr. was charged with domestic assault resulting in serious bodily injury, classified as a Level 4 felony in Indiana. The case has since been transferred to homicide detectives who are currently liaising with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office to determine the appropriate final charge in light of the new ruling.

As of the latest update, William Spann Jr. remains in custody. A booking photo of him has not been released to the public at this time.
