Indonesian worker found dead in Malaysian dormitory with severe head injuries

An Indonesian worker in Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia was discovered dead in his staff dormitory, with severe head injuries raising suspicions of foul play.

The victim, identified as a 31-year-old man named Wadi, was found lifeless in his dormitory, as reported by Sin Chew Daily.

Authorities have taken swift action by arresting the victim’s manager and several colleagues on suspicion of involvement in the alleged murder.

Deception surrounding the cause of death

Initial reports indicated that Wadi was attacked in his dormitory at 11 pm on June 10. Shockingly, his colleagues misled their manager by falsely claiming that Wadi had passed away suddenly. The manager, unaware of the true circumstances, arranged for Wadi’s body to be taken to a funeral parlour.

However, a post-mortem examination revealed that the Indonesian worker had succumbed to a severe head injury, contradicting the earlier claims made by his colleagues.

Arrests made in connection to the case

Within 24 hours of the incident being reported, the police apprehended eight individuals, including the victim’s 39-year-old manager and seven colleagues aged between 20 and 47.

One of the suspects denied any involvement in the assault on Wadi and disputed the notion that the victim died as a result of physical violence.

Authorities are currently treating the case as a potential murder investigation, with further inquiries underway.
