CARLISLE COUNTY, KY (KBSI) — A man has been arrested after a car chase and charged with fleeing or evading police in Carlisle County, Kentucky.

On the night of June 15th, around 11:30 p.m., the Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office received a distress call from the Ballard County Sheriff’s Office regarding a high-speed vehicle pursuit on Kentucky 286 eastbound. The vehicle in question was a silver Dodge Charger with Illinois license plates.

During the chase, the Ballard County Sheriff’s Office reported that the car was travelling at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. As the pursuit entered the Gage community, the car made a U-turn and headed back west on KY 286. In an attempt to stop the vehicle, the Ballard County Sheriff’s Office deployed spike strips on the road, but the driver swerved and narrowly missed hitting a nearby sergeant. Despite this evasion tactic, the car’s tires were punctured by the spikes, causing the vehicle to become disabled.

Following the car’s immobilization, a man identified as Terrell Jones exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Deputies from Ballad, Carlisle, and McCracken counties launched a thorough search for Jones in the surrounding area. It wasn’t until 4 a.m. that a drone equipped with thermal imaging technology located a heat signature in a nearby cornfield, leading to Jones’s apprehension by law enforcement.

Terrell Jones now faces charges of speeding, fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, and several other traffic-related offenses.
