Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A suspected drink-driving incident in Pennsylvania escalated into a high-speed chase, culminating in state police employing a precision immobilization technique (PIT maneuver) to bring the reckless driver to a halt. The event unfolded on June 12, at approximately 7 p.m., when troopers observed a Toyota Corolla travelling at speeds exceeding 110mph in a 55mph zone on Lincoln Way East near Dymond Avenue in Guilford Township, Franklin County.

Despite repeated attempts to signal the driver to stop, the individual continued to exhibit dangerous behaviour, including speeding, passing from the turning lane, and disregarding red lights and stop signs. The pursuit extended into Adams County, where the PIT maneuver was executed on Buchanan Valley Rd in Franklin Township, causing the Corolla to overturn and come to rest on its roof.

The occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening and were subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Quentin Bitner from Fayetteville, now faces charges that include driving under the influence (DUI), fleeing and eluding law enforcement, and various traffic violations. The PIT maneuver involves the pursuing vehicle applying pressure to the rear quarter panel of the fleeing vehicle, prompting it to spin out and stall.
