Accident – Death – Obituary News : The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a tragic incident that occurred late Saturday night at Jordan Lake, N.C. Emergency responders were called to the Jordan Lake Wildlife area just before 11:45 p.m. on Saturday following reports of a possible drowning. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Pradip Kumar Bhujel from Charlotte.

Bhujel was at Jordan Lake with friends, engaging in a fishing excursion when the incident took place. According to eyewitnesses, he waded into the water and suddenly disappeared. Friends of Bhujel alerted authorities, including the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, Chatham County Emergency Management, North Chatham Volunteer Fire Department, FirstHealth EMS, and the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Upon arrival, first responders conducted a thorough search of the area where Bhujel was last seen. Tragically, they discovered his body and pronounced him deceased at the scene. Sheriff Mike Roberson expressed his deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Pradip Kumar Bhujel, stating, “Our team is thoroughly investigating the incident to understand the circumstances that led to this tragic event.”
