The tragedy occurred at 8:30pm when a cement mixer truck lost control and crashed into the compound wall of a building, causing it to topple over.
Yasin Tadvi, the chief of Thane Municipal Corporation’s regional disaster management cell, provided details of the harrowing incident. He stated, “The driver of the cement mixer truck lost control of the vehicle, leading to it breaking through the compound wall and overturning. Unfortunately, young Naseer Sheikh lost his life in the accident, while the remaining individuals have been rushed to the hospital for treatment.”
Emergency response teams, including the fire brigade, swiftly mobilised to the scene to conduct relief operations and assist the injured individuals. The tragic event has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents left in mourning over the loss of a young life and the injuries sustained by others.
