Accident – Death – Obituary News :

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, along with other agencies, are currently responding to a shooting incident at the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad in Rochester Hills. According to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard, the incident has left nine to 10 people injured, with victims ranging in age from 8 years old to adults.

During a news conference held this evening, Sheriff Bouchard stated that there were “nine, maybe 10, victims of varying kinds of injuries.” The suspect, who has been described as being “contained” in a house within a half mile from the scene, reportedly opened fire as he ascended the steps of the splash pad. The weapon used in the shooting, a 9-millimeter glock, was recovered at the scene along with three magazines. Sheriff Bouchard revealed that the suspect fired a total of 28 shots, leading authorities to believe that this was a random act of violence.

Expressing his sorrow over the tragic incident, Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett stated, “It’s heartbreaking to see such senseless violence in our community.” U.S. Rep. John James, who represents the district, also shared his dismay, mentioning that “Father’s Day should be a time for celebration, not spent in the hospital.”

This is an ongoing and developing story, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
