Chicago, June 16: A tragic incident unfolded at a water park in Rochester Hills, located in the northern suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, where at least nine individuals sustained injuries in a horrifying shooting spree. The violence erupted around 5 p.m. on Saturday, as a gunman described as “random” stepped out of a vehicle and unleashed a barrage of 28 gunshots from a handgun, as disclosed by Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard during a press briefing.

Sheriff Bouchard further revealed that there were “nine, maybe 10, victims with varying degrees of injuries,” encompassing individuals across different age groups. Shockingly, among the wounded was an eight-year-old child, underscoring the indiscriminate nature of the attack. The suspect was swiftly contained within a residence located just half a mile away from the water park, providing a sense of relief to the community.

Following the harrowing incident, law enforcement authorities managed to recover a 9-mm handgun along with three magazines from the crime scene, shedding light on the firepower utilised by the assailant.
