Accident – Death – Obituary News : The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, along with other agencies, is currently responding to a tragic incident at the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad in Rochester Hills, which has resulted in nine to 10 individuals sustaining injuries, as reported by Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.
During a press briefing on Saturday evening, Bouchard disclosed that there were “nine, possibly 10, individuals with varying degrees of injuries”. The victims encompass a range of age groups, with the youngest being identified as an 8-year-old child.
The alleged perpetrator is currently “contained” within a residence situated half a mile away from the scene, according to Bouchard. The suspect, as described by the sheriff, exited a vehicle, proceeded to the steps, discharged a firearm, reloaded while ascending the steps, and then fired an additional 28 rounds. The weapon used in the attack was a 9mm Glock, and three magazines were also recovered at the crime scene.
Expressing his sorrow over the incident, Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett remarked, “It’s heart-wrenching.”
U.S. Rep. John James, who represents the district of Farmington Hills, also shared his sentiments, stating, “Fathers should not be spending Father’s Day in hospital.”
