Accident – Death – Obituary News : LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man is facing charges of attempted murder after an incident involving his girlfriend, where he allegedly accused her of infidelity and attempted to strangle her, as reported by 8 News Now.

Marsean Harris, a 30-year-old man, was arrested by the Las Vegas Metro police on June 12. The charges against him include attempted murder, two counts of domestic battery by strangulation, domestic battery, and coercion with physical force, according to official records.

The arrest came following a distress call from a mother seeking medical attention for her daughter, who had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Harris. The victim reported that Harris pinned her down and headbutted her, resulting in injuries near her face, eye, and neck. Police investigations revealed that the injuries on her neck were caused by Harris’s nails during the altercation, rather than from strangulation.

Harris, who had been in a relationship with the victim for approximately a year, confessed to forcefully grabbing her and accidentally elbowing her face during what he described as “roughhousing.” He claimed to have cleaned up the blood and the couple went to bed afterwards. The victim declined his offer to take her to a doctor the next morning when she noticed her injuries.

In a recorded interview at the hospital, the victim disclosed to the police that Harris had trust issues and often accused her of dishonesty. The altercation that led to the assault occurred on June 1, around 4 p.m., when Harris accused her of lying while she was speaking with her aunt, prompting her to leave for a family member’s house.

Upon her return home, Harris allegedly headbutted her, causing her to fall off the bed, and proceeded to punch her multiple times, resulting in a nosebleed. He then attempted to strangle her for a period of 10 to 30 seconds while she struggled to break free.

Despite managing to escape and seek refuge in the bathroom to tend to her injuries, the victim expressed wavering cooperativeness due to her fear of Harris. During her hospital stay, Harris persistently called and texted her, even monitoring the number of visitors she had in her room.

Harris claimed to have learned about her hospitalization through phone conversations but refrained from visiting due to concerns about her family being present. However, police noted that the severity of the injuries sustained by the victim contradicted Harris’s claims of mere “horseplay.”

Following further investigation, Harris was taken into custody and subsequently booked at the Clark County Detention Center (CCDC). He is set to appear in court on Tuesday to face the charges brought against him..
