Accident – Death – Obituary News : Kanpur: The body of a police head constable was discovered in a nullah near Guptar Ghat in the Pheel Khana area of the city on Friday. The deceased, identified as Khem Chandra, a 50-year-old resident of village Larauni in Jhansi district, was posted as a head constable at Kanpur’s Reserve Police Lines. Chandra had left his room around 4.30 pm on Thursday evening. Concern arose when he did not return to the Police Lines, and attempts to contact him were futile as his phone was switched off. His family members were also unable to reach him. Subsequently, his body was found in a nullah near Guptar Ghat on Friday morning, along with his uniform and belt.

According to police sources, Chandra was known to frequent a liquor shop near the area where his body was discovered. A rickshaw-puller identified him as a regular customer of the shop, often dropping him off at the Police Lines. CCTV footage captured Chandra heading towards the nullah near the liquor shop before his demise. The police are currently investigating the case, analyzing call details and scrutinizing the CCTV footage. Several suspects have been taken in for questioning.

It was revealed that the deceased head constable’s son is a trainee sub-inspector stationed in Meerut. DCP (East) Shrawan Kumar Singh stated that three teams have been set up to determine the cause of Chandra’s death. “We are exploring every possible angle in this investigation,” the DCP added.

In recent news, a dead body was found on the Greek island of Symi, believed to be that of British TV presenter Michael Mosley, who went missing while on vacation with his wife Clare Bailey. Moreover, Khanna police arrested two individuals, Pardeep Singh and Suraj Prakash, for firing at Paramjit Jewellers in Doraha. The authorities recovered pistols, magazines, and cartridges from the suspects, who were wanted at different police stations in Ludhiana.
