The tragic loss of 12-year-old Keaton Slater has shaken the community of Coventry. The young boy was killed in a fatal collision on Radford Road in the northwest of the city at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 16th.

West Midlands Police have identified the boy as Keaton Slater. The collision occurred when a car failed to stop, resulting in the tragic loss of the young life.

Investigations are ongoing to trace the driver of the black BMW involved in the collision. One person has voluntarily handed themselves into the police for questioning and has been released under investigation.

Keaton’s family has paid tribute to him, describing him as “beautiful inside and out.” They remember him as a fun-loving little comedian who always aimed to bring joy and laughter to those around him.

Following the incident, West Midlands Police seized a black BMW that was abandoned in the New Arley area on Friday evening. The vehicle is currently being examined as part of the investigation.

Sergeant Rich Evans from West Midlands Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit expressed his condolences to Keaton’s family, stating, “A family has lost a 12-year-old boy in an appalling incident, and our thoughts remain with them.”

The police are appealing for any information or witnesses who may have seen the events leading up to the collision. They are particularly interested in obtaining dashcam footage or CCTV footage of the area at the time of the incident.
