Driver Arrested for DUI and Resisting Arrest

On the afternoon of June 4, officers were called to the scene of a traffic collision at the intersection of East Gibson Road and Matmor Road. The driver responsible for the collision was identified as Juan Tolefree, a 23-year-old resident of Woodland. It was determined that Tolefree was driving under the influence at the time of the accident and he was subsequently arrested. While being transported to the hospital, Tolefree became physically combative with the officers. He was later booked into the Yolo County Jail on charges of driving under the influence and resisting arrest.

French Bulldog Stolen from Vehicle

On the evening of June 7, a female traveler passing through Woodland on her way to Washington State reported that her French Bulldog, named Pork Chop, had been stolen from her vehicle while she stopped at a gas station on East Main Street. Despite the lack of operational security cameras and witnesses at the gas station, officers conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the missing dog.

The following morning, Pork Chop was found in a local hotel room registered to the dog’s owner. It was discovered that the owner had mistakenly left the dog at the hotel, leading to the false report of theft. Pork Chop was taken to the animal shelter in hopes of reuniting him with his owner.

Arrest Made in Stolen Vehicle Case

In the early hours of June 11, an officer spotted a 2015 GMC truck that had been reported stolen in San Bruno, California. The driver, identified as Joseph Watson, a 38-year-old resident of Esparto and a parolee at large, was arrested following a high-risk stop. A search of the vehicle yielded approximately 2.6 grams of methamphetamine in a common area, as well as prescription pills found in Watson’s wallet. He was booked into jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and parole violation.
