Accident – Death – Obituary News :
An Evans resident, John Luttrell, aged 43, has been charged with two counts of drug distribution following a recent traffic stop. The police discovered over 40 grams of methamphetamine and more than 300 M-30 pills suspected to contain fentanyl during the incident.
Details of the Arrest
On June 10th, a patrol officer in Evans observed a red Hyundai SUV travelling at high speed on Lakeside Drive. The officer later located the vehicle parked in front of a house known for previous narcotics-related activities. The driver, later identified as Luttrell, was seen interacting with another individual before driving off towards a local motel.
Upon pulling over the vehicle, the officers noticed burnt foil on the floorboard, indicative of fentanyl use. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered multiple bags of counterfeit M-30 pills and methamphetamine, all prepared for distribution.
Contents Found in the Vehicle
Inside the Hyundai, the police discovered various quantities of M-30 pills and methamphetamine, meticulously packaged for sale. The total weight of the pills amounted to 40.3 grams, with the methamphetamine weighing 40.1 grams.
Additionally, a search of a speaker that Luttrell had picked up at the motel yielded no contraband. During questioning at the Evans Police Department, Luttrell claimed that the drugs belonged to a female acquaintance, and he was unaware of their presence in the vehicle.
Legal Proceedings
John Luttrell was promptly arrested and taken to Weld County Jail. He is scheduled for a hearing on June 25th at Weld County District Court to face charges of drug distribution.
