Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Authorities in Melbourne are on the lookout for a group of teenagers suspected of carrying out armed robberies at four supermarkets on Saturday night. The incidents have left staff members injured and have sparked a city-wide search for the perpetrators.

Violent Robberies

The first robbery took place at a supermarket in Cheltenham at around 3.50pm. Three young men reportedly entered the store and assaulted a 19-year-old employee, causing minor injuries. They then fled the scene in a white Mercedes, taking cash and cigarettes with them.

Shortly after, the same group, armed with knives, targeted a supermarket in Brighton. They demanded cash and cigarettes from the staff and allegedly assaulted three workers. The employees were treated for minor injuries, with one sustaining a cut from a knife on his hand. The assailants once again fled in the white Mercedes, driven by a fourth accomplice.

At around 6pm, the group struck again, this time at a supermarket in Mount Waverley. They brandished a knife, stole cigarettes, and made a swift getaway in the same white Mercedes. Minutes later, a supermarket in Camberwell was robbed in a similar manner, with the thieves escaping with cash and cigarettes.

Police Response

Inspector Scott Dwyer has assured the public that arrests in connection with the robberies are imminent. He emphasized the severity of the crimes and the impact they have had on the victims and witnesses. The alleged offenders, believed to be between 14 and 17 years old and of various nationalities, are still at large.

Inspector Dwyer revealed that the white Mercedes used in the robberies was reported stolen from a residence in Doncaster East on June 7. The thieves had entered the home through an unlocked door and taken the vehicle while the occupants were unaware.
