A man has been charged with shooting a person who attempted to rob him of his rare coins in a parking lot near the Parks Mall in Arlington, Texas. The incident took place on Saturday evening, prompting a response from Arlington Police.

According to police reports, 23-year-old Edgar Ipina called the authorities to report that he had been robbed and subsequently shot at the suspect as they attempted to flee. Ipina had arranged to meet a buyer in the parking lot to sell his rare coins online. However, when he showed the coins to the buyer, the individual grabbed them and made a run for it without paying.

Ipina fired multiple shots as the buyer entered a vehicle and drove away. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Booker Ross, later arrived at a Fort Worth hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Despite Ross being unarmed and not posing a threat, Ipina was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Once Ross is discharged from the hospital, he will be booked and charged with Theft from Person. The police clarified that Ross was not armed and did not pose a threat during the incident.
