Accident – Death – Obituary News : An 18-year-old Baloch youth, identified as Brahmdagh, has reportedly been ‘forcibly disappeared’ for the second time from the Kech district of Balochistan, Pakistan. According to The Balochistan Post, Pakistani forces allegedly detained Brahmdagh after raiding his home in the Daazin area of Kech district on Friday. The occupants were reportedly assaulted, their mobile phones confiscated, and Brahmdagh was taken away by the forces.

This is not the first time Brahmdagh has faced such a situation. He was previously detained by security forces on October 14, 2023, and released after four months of detention on February 6, 2024. Concerned about his repeated disappearances, his family has called for his safe return.

In response to the incident, PAANK, the human rights wing of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), expressed solidarity and condemned the violation of human rights. They called for Brahmdagh’s immediate release and an end to enforced disappearances in Balochistan.

Human rights activist Mahrang Baloch of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) criticized the Pakistani government’s failure to address cases of missing persons and enforced disappearances. During a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, Baloch highlighted the discrepancy in the numbers reported by the government and independent organizations, terming it a collapse of law and order.

Baloch emphasized the challenges faced by the Baloch community and the deteriorating situation for its members. She pointed out that despite peaceful advocacy efforts by BYC, community members continue to face arrests, harassment, and torture by government agencies.

The BYC has been actively working for the human rights and interests of the Baloch people and has organized campaigns and rallies to raise awareness about their struggles. Despite facing challenges and threats, the committee remains committed to advocating for the rights of the Baloch community.

The repeated disappearances of Brahmdagh and the broader issue of enforced disappearances in Balochistan highlight the ongoing human rights violations in the region. It is essential for the Pakistani authorities to address these concerns and ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals in the region..
