Accident – Death – Obituary News : The body of a 35-year-old man was recovered from the Kharigaon creek in Kalwa on Sunday morning, sparking an investigation by local authorities. The man, identified as Bablu Vishwakarma from Wagle estate, was suspected to have taken his own life. Yasin Tadvi, Chief of the Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), disclosed that the tragic incident occurred on Saturday evening around 7pm.

According to reports, Vishwakarma and a woman were spotted jumping into the creek from the Saket Bridge, prompting a swift response from firemen and members of the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC). Despite the challenges posed by darkness, the search operation commenced immediately. After an hour of searching, the operation was temporarily halted and resumed at 7:00am on Sunday. Four hours later, Vishwakarma’s lifeless body was located and retrieved from the water.

Kalwa police have initiated an investigation into the incident, registering it as an accidental death. Initial findings suggest that Vishwakarma was grappling with significant debts and severe depression, factors that may have contributed to his decision to end his life.
