On a recent Thursday, a man was taken into custody after reportedly committing a robbery at a local business and subsequently making an unsuccessful attempt to carjack an individual to flee the scene. The Greensboro Police Department disclosed that two officers rushed to the 2000 block of East Wendover Avenue upon receiving reports of a business robbery. Upon reaching the scene, the officers swiftly identified the alleged perpetrator. However, when they tried to apprehend him, he managed to evade capture.

Subsequently, a pursuit ensued, culminating in the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Zakaria Majak, unsuccessfully trying to carjack a passerby, as per police reports. Majak has been charged with the following offences:

Robbery with firearms or other dangerous weapons

Felon possessing a firearm

He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. In the aftermath of the incident, the two officers involved in the case worked tirelessly for a continuous 15-hour shift to help bring closure to the investigation.
