Accident – Death – Obituary News : Tevorri Hawkins, a 47-year-old resident of Goshen, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle/car collision in Elkhart. The Elkhart Police Department is actively investigating the incident, which took place on Thursday evening at the intersection of Prairie and Middlebury Streets.

The Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received a distress call at around 5:36 p.m. reporting a crash with injuries. EPD officers and Elkhart Fire Department personnel were promptly dispatched to the scene to provide assistance. Upon arrival, they found the male motorcycle driver, in his late 40s, with severe injuries. Despite their efforts, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

In another development, a 48-year-old man was arrested by Goshen police on Thursday afternoon at 3:24 p.m. on charges of leaving the scene of a crash. The arrest came after he allegedly collided with a vehicle and a mailbox in the 400 block of River Avenue before fleeing the scene.

Furthermore, a 32-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies at 4:30 a.m. that his company truck was hit by an unidentified person in the 17000 block of Bentwood Drive in Goshen. Additionally, a 23-year-old woman informed Elkhart County deputies at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday that her parked vehicle was struck on the side while in the 58000 block of Oakwood Court in Elkhart.

In a separate incident, a 39-year-old man contacted Elkhart County deputies at 11:21 p.m. to report a vehicle stopping on C.R. 3 in Elkhart, where the driver fired five rounds from a firearm into a wooded area.

Moreover, a 45-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies that multiple items, including motorcycles, were stolen from the 29000 block of U.S. 33 in Elkhart between June 11 and June 13.

In the realm of fraud, Rieth Riley Construction reported to Goshen police that an attempt was made to open a checking account under the business’ name. Similarly, Everwise Bank informed Goshen police about an individual trying to withdraw money from a counterfeit check deposited in a South Bend bank the previous day. Additionally, a 52-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County deputies that she was a victim of fraud.
