A shocking incident took place at the Government JH PG College in Madhya Pradesh, where Assistant Professor Neeraj Dhakad from the Sanskrit department was viciously attacked by a group of assailants armed with sticks and chilli powder. The attackers, numbering between five and seven, stormed into the college premises and launched a brutal assault on Professor Dhakad on Friday afternoon.

Brutal Assault Caught on CCTV

CCTV cameras captured the entire horrifying episode as the attackers threw chilli powder into Professor Dhakad’s eyes and beat him with sticks. The footage shows the assailants barging into the Sanskrit department and relentlessly attacking the professor, who was engaged in a discussion with students at the time.

Shocking Eyewitness Accounts

Eyewitnesses described the harrowing scene, recounting how the attackers continued their assault until Professor Dhakad collapsed unconscious. Despite the presence of other faculty members and students nearby, no one intervened to stop the attack. Colleagues only rushed to Professor Dhakad’s aid after the assailants fled, transporting him to the district hospital for treatment.

Motive Behind the Attack

Medical reports confirmed that Professor Dhakad suffered severe injuries, including fractures to his head, hands, and legs. The motive behind the attack appears to be linked to a previous argument between Professor Dhakad and one of the assailants, identified as Annu Thakur, a former student of the college.

Previous Confrontation

Tensions had escalated between Professor Dhakad and Annu Thakur a month ago over alleged irregularities in the college’s scholarship program. Annu Thakur was caught attempting to misuse Professor Dhakad’s official seal and letterhead, leading to a confrontation that had seemingly been resolved until this violent attack.

Professor Dhakad’s Account

From his hospital bed, Professor Dhakad stated, “I was discussing student projects when suddenly five boys entered, threw chilli powder, and started hitting me with sticks. I recognised them; they were Annu Thakur’s men. Their intention was to kill me.”

Police Investigation

Police have registered a case of attempted murder and have launched a manhunt to apprehend the remaining attackers who were captured on the CCTV footage. The authorities are working diligently to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of faculty and students at the college.
