Srinagar- On Saturday, an unfortunate gas cylinder explosion occurred at the middle school in Jafarpora locality of Anantnag district, resulting in injuries to an elderly woman and a minor boy. Both individuals have been hospitalized due to burn injuries sustained in the incident.
According to reports from a local official, the 50-year-old woman, who worked as a cook at the school, and the 4-year-old boy were injured when a gas cylinder exploded, likely due to a leakage.
Following the explosion, both victims were promptly transferred to SDH Bijbhera for initial treatment. Subsequently, they were referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for more advanced medical care.
Providing details on the extent of injuries, the official mentioned that the woman suffered 30 percent burn injuries, while the young boy’s injuries were more severe at 60 percent burns. Fortunately, the fire resulting from the explosion has been successfully extinguished.
The injured individuals have been identified as Hajira, wife of Abdul Ganie, and Zian, son of Mohammad Ashraf.
