ODAESSA, Texas — Two individuals have been taken into custody following the tragic shooting death of a man in Odessa. The incident took place at approximately 3:39 p.m. in the 1800 block of Newcomb.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered blood in the roadway and a trail leading to a nearby house where two individuals, identified as 18-year-old Brayden Roupp and a 16-year-old white female, were seen exiting. Both individuals were detained by the police. Inside the residence, officers found a male victim who had succumbed to an apparent gunshot wound.
Investigations revealed that the detained individuals were directly involved in the shooting, with one of them confessing to the crime. Both suspects have been charged with Murder in the First Degree. The identity of the victim is currently being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities are urging anyone with information or surveillance footage related to the incident to come forward and contact the Odessa Police Department at 432-333-3641, referencing case number 24-6980. It is believed that there are no other suspects at large, and the authorities are treating this as an isolated case. The investigation is ongoing.
