Accident – Death – Obituary News : A couple from the Mississippi Gulf Coast has been arrested and charged with child abuse following the tragic death of their infant. The Biloxi Police Department responded to a call from Merit Health Hospital on Thursday regarding a suspicious death. Upon arrival, officers were informed by hospital staff that 20-year-old Summer Rose Hill and 21-year-old Takavian Keivon Gibbs had brought their deceased child to the emergency room.
Medical staff conducting the initial examination discovered multiple injuries on the infant that were consistent with abuse. As a result, both Hill and Gibbs were taken into custody and charged with child abuse. Each individual was given a $500,000 bond and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
Authorities anticipate additional charges to be filed in connection with the case. Anyone who may have information about the infant’s death is urged to contact the Biloxi Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at (228) 435-6112.
