LIMESTONE CO., Ala. (WAFF) – A man was taken into custody on charges of drug trafficking following a routine traffic stop in Limestone County on June 6, 2024.

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies conducted a traffic stop on a truck traveling along Interstate 65, just south of the Elkmont exit. During their investigation, deputies noticed a strong smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.

Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the driver had an active warrant in Limestone County. The driver, identified as Stanley Dwayne Billions Jr., initially refused to comply with deputies’ instructions to exit the vehicle. After a brief struggle, deputies managed to apprehend Billions Jr.

A search of the truck led to the discovery of 352 grams (equivalent to 12 ounces) of methamphetamine and 14 ounces of marijuana.

Stanley Dwayne Billions Jr., a 40-year-old resident of Huntsville, was charged with drug trafficking (methamphetamine), resisting arrest, possession of marijuana in the first degree, and an alias warrant.

Following his arrest, Billions Jr. was booked into the Limestone County Jail, with his bond set at $106,000.00.
