A heartbreaking incident unfolded at Ambazari Lake in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where a 16-year-old boy lost his life after accidentally falling into an open pump house. The victim, identified as Pulkit Raj Shahdadpuri, had just celebrated his 16th birthday before the tragic mishap occurred on Tuesday (June 11).
According to the authorities, Pulkit had gathered with four of his friends at the lake after cutting his birthday cake at midnight. While engrossed in playing a game on his smartphone, the unsuspecting teenager failed to notice the open pump house filled with water and accidentally fell into it. Tragically, Pulkit drowned in the 150-foot-deep pump house.
The alarm was raised when one of Pulkit’s friends noticed the absence of their companion and alerted a nearby guard who promptly informed the police. Following a search and rescue operation, Pulkit’s lifeless body was retrieved from the pump house and subsequently sent for postmortem examination.
The young boy had recently achieved success in his academic pursuits by passing his Class 10 examinations, marking a significant milestone in his educational journey.
