Mohd Murshleen : Elephant fatality in Bijnor sparks reel-making tragedy

BIJNOR: A 24-year-old man tragically lost his life after being trampled by a stray elephant in the Dhampur area of Bijnor on Wednesday evening. The victim, identified as Mohd Murshleen from Bagdad Ansari village, had ventured out of his residence with friends upon hearing the trumpeting sound of an elephant near the Dhampur forest range.
Upon encountering the majestic creature, he decided to capture a video for social media. Unfortunately, this action seemed to agitate the elephant, prompting it to charge at him. The elephant swiftly lifted him with its trunk, threw him to the ground, and proceeded to trample him, according to eyewitnesses.
Sub-divisional forest officer Gyan Singh of Bijnor stated, “The tusker likely wandered from the Kalagarh area of Corbett National Park. Measures are being taken to redirect the elephant towards the Sahuwala forest range, away from densely populated regions. The elephant, over 25 years old and fully matured, poses a significant risk to public safety.”
