Accident – Death – Obituary News :

BOSTON, MA – In a surprising turn of events, a routine traffic stop in the Dorchester area on Tuesday night led to the dramatic arrest of Marvin Lafontant, a 36-year-old resident of Roslindale. Boston Police officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) apprehended Lafontant on multiple firearm charges, following a series of escalating events.

It all began when officers, conducting patrols near Columbia Road and Dudley Street, observed a vehicle speeding. They promptly initiated a traffic stop using emergency signals, bringing the vehicle to a halt at 4 Half Moon Street. Lafontant, the driver, exhibited signs of nervousness and was unable to provide complete documentation upon request.

The situation quickly intensified when Lafontant, asked to exit the vehicle, resisted a pat-down and made a desperate attempt to flee, pushing officers in the process. Despite his efforts to break free and retrieve an item from his waistband, officers managed to subdue him after a brief struggle.

Upon securing Lafontant, law enforcement discovered a concealed Smith & Wesson M&P BodyGuard firearm hidden inside a sock in his groin area. The loaded firearm contained one round in the chamber and five in the magazine, with an obliterated serial number, raising further concerns.

Lafontant now faces a litany of charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, defacement of a firearm serial number, two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest. He is scheduled for arraignment in Roxbury District Court.
