A man from El Paso, Texas, tragically lost his life while vacationing at a private resort in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, after being electrocuted in a jacuzzi on Tuesday, as per reports.
According to a local NBC station in El Paso, the Mexican State of Sonora General Prosecutor’s Office revealed that the victim, identified as 43-year-old Jorge N., was at the Sonoran Sea Resort with another individual named Lizeth N., when the incident occurred just after 10 p.m.
The prosecutor’s office indicated that a possible wiring malfunction may have led to Jorge’s electrocution, while Lizeth sustained severe injuries as a result.
Lizeth was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals informed her that she had suffered burns consistent with electric shock.

She was subsequently transferred back to the United States, where she was listed in critical condition, as per the general prosecutor’s office.
During the investigative process, a witness who knew both Jorge and Lizeth stated that she noticed the pair were motionless in the jacuzzi.

The witness recounted attempting to enter the jacuzzi upon discovering the couple’s unresponsiveness, only to receive an electric shock herself.
It was at that moment that she urgently sought help.
The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Sonora is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
