The victim, identified as Jonael Zambrano, was in his room with his sister and cousin when a hail of bullets tore through the walls of their home. Tragically, a stray bullet struck Jonael in the head, causing fatal injuries that he would succumb to at an area hospital.
Jonael’s mother, overwhelmed with grief, expressed disbelief at the tragic turn of events. She believes that the shooter may have mistaken their residence for someone else’s, leading to the deadly mistake that claimed her son’s life.
Despite the best efforts of emergency responders and medical staff, Jonael could not be saved, leaving his family and community devastated by the loss of such a young life.
