Authorities in Los Angeles are on the lookout for a man involved in a violent road rage altercation at Los Angeles International Airport that resulted in an elderly woman being knocked unconscious.
The incident took place at approximately 9:25 a.m. on May 31 as the woman’s luggage was being unloaded from her vehicle near the baggage claim area, according to the Los Angeles police department.
Video footage released by the authorities captured the moment when a man identified as Jasan Givens Sr., aged 38, was seen chasing after a shirtless individual running on the sidewalk. The altercation then escalated onto the street where the elderly woman was standing next to her vehicle.
During the scuffle, the two men collided with the woman, causing her to fall to the ground unconscious. Givens proceeded to tackle the other individual from behind, leading to a physical altercation between the two men while the woman lay motionless on the ground.
The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, was immediately transported to the hospital in critical condition. Fortunately, she has since been discharged, although the full extent of her injuries has not been disclosed by the authorities.
Manhunt for Jasan Givens Sr.
Following the incident, Jasan Givens Sr. fled the scene in a silver Chevrolet sedan bearing the license plate 5UAL384. The vehicle is believed to have sustained visible damage to the front passenger door.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Givens’ whereabouts to contact the Los Angeles police department. The other individual involved in the altercation has been apprehended, as reported by KTLA-TV Channel 5.
“The most alarming aspect of this incident is the failure of both individuals to provide assistance after the altercation,” stated LAPD Detective Scott Danielson. “The victim in this case could be your mother or grandmother.”
