HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A 42-year-old man has been apprehended by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly stealing several vehicles in Collinsville on Friday, June 14.

Incident Details

Reports received by dispatch indicated that the suspect stole a 2012 Blue Subaru Abreeza from the Family Dollar store located on the 2500 block of Virginia Ave. The owner of the vehicle witnessed the theft and provided a description of the perpetrator to deputies.

Shortly after, another stolen vehicle, a White 2010 Toyota Prius, was reported on Printers Lane in Collinsville. The owner of the Prius also witnessed the crime and provided a similar description of the suspect to law enforcement officers.

Law Enforcement Response

Following the reports, deputies located the stolen Subaru Abreeza at the Collinsville Library on Virginia Ave. While recovering the vehicle, a worker at a local Auto Tech establishment reported that the suspect had parked the stolen Prius at their store and fled towards the Econo Lodge.

Law enforcement officials swiftly responded to both the Auto Tech store and the Econo Lodge, where they found the Prius at the former location. The suspect, identified as Deangelo Tywan Waller, was discovered hiding in a restricted area of the motel and was subsequently taken into custody without resistance.

Legal Consequences

Deangelo Tywan Waller has been charged with two counts of Felony Grand Larceny in connection with the stolen vehicles. He is currently being held at the Henry County Detention Center without the option for bail.
