A North Mankato police officer was involved in a high-speed pursuit on Thursday afternoon, chasing a man with a cancelled driver’s license who was driving a motorhome along Belgrade Ave. The dramatic chase unfolded around 4 p.m., as reported by the North Mankato Police Department.
DRIVER FLEES ACROSS VETERANS MEMORIAL BRIDGE
Despite attempts by the officer to pull over the vehicle, the driver accelerated and raced eastward over the Veterans Memorial Bridge, entering Mankato via 2nd St. and East Main St. The driver, later identified as 33-year-old Anthony Schultz from North Mankato, abandoned the motorhome and fled on foot near the Blue Earth County Library.
ARREST MADE NEAR CITY CENTER PARKING RAMP
Law enforcement officers swiftly apprehended Schultz near the City Center Parking Ramp, bringing an end to the dramatic chase. Schultz was taken into custody and is currently awaiting formal charges.
