The driver, identified as 79-year-old Alfred Fletcher, was behind the wheel of a 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis when the vehicle veered off the left side of the roadway. The car then became airborne and collided with a concrete wall, resulting in fatal injuries for Fletcher. Despite wearing a seat belt, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
