Police have apprehended a 24-year-old woman in relation to a shooting incident that took place in Delhi. The Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Brantford Police collaborated to execute a search warrant at a residence on Jamieson Court in Brantford on Wednesday evening.
During the search, authorities seized a black 2016 Ford Escape Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) that was reportedly involved in the shooting that occurred two days prior. Gunshots were fired from inside the vehicle towards residences on Talbot Road and Queen Street in Delhi, as observed by witnesses.
Witnesses reported seeing a man and woman arriving at and departing from both shooting locations in the aforementioned SUV. Subsequently, at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a woman was taken into custody at an address on Elgin Street in Brantford.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
The 24-year-old woman has been charged with several offenses, including unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition. Additionally, she faces charges related to being an occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm and discharging a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner (x2).
Meanwhile, the search for the man believed to have been driving the black SUV continues. Described as a white male aged between 20-30 years old, he was reportedly wearing a hat, sunglasses, a black balaclava, and a white shirt at the time of the incident.
