CHICAGO – A 25-year-old individual has been taken into custody in connection with a recent fatal shooting in the Little Village neighbourhood.
Valeriano Heredia, a resident of Chicago, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder, as confirmed by the Chicago Police Department.
The arrest of Heredia took place on Monday at the 2100 block of S. 1st Avenue in Maywood, following his identification as a suspect in a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man the day before.
According to authorities, Heredia stands accused of fatally shooting the victim in the 3900 block of W. 31st Street. The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed.
Heredia is scheduled to appear in court for a detention hearing on June 13th.
