Authorities in Youthfulstown are currently on the scene of a shooting incident on South Maryland Avenue in the city’s west side. The police have not disclosed many details about the incident at this time.
Police Presence and Investigation
Multiple officers from the Youthfulstown Police Department have responded to the scene of the shooting. Reports from the 21 News crew indicate that the officers are focusing their attention on a particular house on South Maryland Avenue.
Recent Spate of Shootings
This shooting on South Maryland Avenue is the latest in a series of violent incidents in Youthfulstown. Just hours before this incident, police were called to the intersection of Steel Street and Salt Springs Road, where a man was found dead in his vehicle. Numerous shell casings were discovered in the vicinity.
On a previous night, a 19-year-old male was discovered in a driveway on E Judson Avenue with a gunshot wound. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. A 17-year-old suspect has been taken into custody in connection with this case.
Prior to that, a barrage of 131 gunshots echoed through the streets at the corner of Glenwood and Sherwood Avenues. Upon investigating, authorities found a victim inside an SUV. Tragically, the victim, identified as 18-year-old Te’nya McKinley, was an innocent bystander.
