Milford Man Arrested in Connection to Kidnapping Incident
MILFORD, Del. – In a disturbing turn of events, a Dover man has been taken into custody following a kidnapping investigation that was initiated last month.
On the 11th of May, the Milford Police Department was contacted by the family of the victim, expressing their apprehension about the safety of their loved one. The victim, upon being reached out to, disclosed that they had been forcibly held captive by a 19-year-old individual identified as Tajon Cohen. Cohen allegedly coerced the victim into driving around various areas in Milford and Dover, while also confiscating the victim’s mobile phone.
After the incident, Cohen absconded from the area and was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Georgia on the 31st of May. He was subsequently extradited back to Delaware and formally charged with second-degree kidnapping, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, malicious interference with emergency communications, offensive touching, and menacing.
Following his arrest, Cohen was remanded in custody on a bail amounting to $67,200, which is to be paid in cash only. Additionally, a no-contact order has been issued between Cohen and the victim to ensure the safety and well-being of the latter.
