Accident – Death – Obituary News : A woman in Nagpur, along with five other individuals, has been apprehended in connection with the brutal murder of an 82-year-old man, identified as Puroshattam Puttewar, who happened to be the father-in-law of the main suspect. The accused, named Archana Puttewar, allegedly orchestrated a ‘hit and run’ scenario to eliminate her father-in-law, disguising it as an accident. A staggering sum of Rs 1 crore was purportedly paid to the hired assailants for carrying out the heinous crime. Initial investigations by the authorities suggest that the deceased’s substantial estate, estimated at a value of Rs 300 crore, served as the primary motive behind the murder.

The woman, aged 53, hatched the diabolical scheme in collaboration with her brother and four other cohorts, all of whom have been taken into custody by the crime branch of the Nagpur police. It has been revealed that the accused orchestrated the murder using a second-hand vehicle on May 22.

Tragically, the victim fell prey to the ruthless attackers while visiting his wife, Shakuntala, at the hospital. The fatal incident occurred at approximately 10.30 am as he made his way back to his daughter’s residence in Balaji Nagar. Shockingly, this was not the first attempt on the victim’s life, as two previous attacks had been made on May 8 and 16, respectively.

In the course of the investigation, law enforcement authorities have confiscated a cache of gold jewellery, two automobiles, and mobile devices linked to the case. Archana Puttewar and her brother were well-respected figures in the bureaucratic realm of Nagpur, with Archana holding a prominent position in the town planning department and her brother, Prashant, serving as the director of MSME Nagpur. The other individuals implicated in the crime include Niraj Nimje, the alleged driver of the vehicle that struck the victim, along with accomplice Sachin Dharmik, Archana’s secretary Payal Nageshwar, and driver Sarthak Bagde.

Apart from the murder inquiry, authorities have also uncovered potential instances of corruption involving Archana, including irregularities related to project approvals during her tenure as a bureaucrat. The case continues to unfold as investigators delve deeper into the intricate web of deceit and betrayal that led to such a tragic outcome.
