Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A resident of Hunnewell, Missouri, has been taken into custody by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputies after being accused of embezzling funds from a livestock auction establishment in Monroe City, Missouri. The arrest, which took place last week, resulted in one officer sustaining injuries during the apprehension process.

The individual in question, 41-year-old Ryan M. Edlin, appeared in Monroe County Circuit Court on Tuesday to face a range of charges, including money laundering, multiple counts of theft exceeding $25,000, forgery related to a tax return, and deceptive business practices.

Furthermore, Edlin’s mother, 64-year-old Anna M. Edlin, has also been implicated in similar offences and was placed under arrest in April.

Reports from Muddy River News suggest that a probable cause statement, lodged on April 11th by Monroe County Sheriff Joe Colston, detailed allegations that Ryan Edlin misappropriated approximately $3.5 million while employed at a local business between March 2019 and October 2023. The business in question was later identified as Heinold Hog Market, with Anna Edlin’s involvement redacted from the official document.

Edlin’s apprehension occurred on June 4th at a property on East Street in Mount Sterling, owned by his father. Following a brief escape attempt, Edlin reportedly engaged in physical altercations with law enforcement officers, resulting in a tense standoff situation.

As of now, there are no pending charges in Brown County Circuit Court related to the incident, as per available online records.

According to the Muddy River News, Edlin sought refuge within his father’s residence as officers pursued him. To gain access, law enforcement had to forcibly enter the property, where firearms were allegedly present. During the apprehension process, officers sustained various injuries, with one individual reportedly suffering a broken nose. Details surrounding the arrest remain limited.

Following his capture, Edlin was transported to Schuyler County Jail before being extradited to Monroe County last Wednesday. A preliminary hearing for the Missouri charges has been scheduled for June 20th.
