Accident – Death – Obituary News : One individual has tragically lost their life, and three others have sustained injuries following a harrowing two-vehicle collision in Banks County on Tuesday.

The devastating incident occurred at approximately 3:05 p.m. on June 12th at the intersection of GA 15/US 441 and Webbs Creek Road. According to reports from the Georgia State Patrol, 67-year-old Natalie Ann Longley from Cumming was behind the wheel of a Ford Escape, travelling west on Webb’s Creek. Upon reaching the intersection, Longley attempted to cross over US 441 to GA 164/Historic Homer Highway. Unfortunately, she failed to yield the right of way and ended up colliding with a northbound Lexus driven by 44-year-old Yanett Maldonado Silva from Commerce.

The impact of the collision caused the Escape to overturn, while the Lexus spun counterclockwise and veered into the median. Both drivers, as well as their passengers – identified as Linda Carol McCard and Carlos Vargas – sustained injuries as a result of the crash.

Tragically, Longley became trapped inside the overturned vehicle following the collision. Firefighters from Banks County bravely worked to free her from the wreckage, and she was subsequently transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, Longley succumbed to her injuries.

Banks County Fire Chief Steve Nichols confirmed that ambulances rushed the three remaining individuals to the hospital, where they are currently in stable condition.
