A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Nairobi County as a 50-year-old man, Mr Musembi Wambua, tragically lost his life in a fire that engulfed Mukuru Slums.
According to Nairobi County police boss Adamson Bungei, the man was trapped by the flames, and despite the efforts of the Nairobi County fire brigade, the fire resulted in significant damage and casualties.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to this devastating incident.
Mr Wambua’s remains were taken to the City Mortuary for further examination through an autopsy to shed light on the exact cause of his untimely demise.
Tragedy Strikes Again in Pangani Area as Two Men Crushed by Glass Panes
In another unfortunate turn of events, Pangani Area witnessed a tragic accident on the night of Tuesday, June 11, 2023, as two men, Mr Jeremiah Wambua and Mr Peter Muiruri, lost their lives while offloading glass panes from a container.
Reports indicate that the men were part of a team hired to unload the glass panes at a warehouse in Ushirika Refu Area, with the promise of a payment of Sh1,200 each for their labour.
Unfortunately, the men met their untimely end before completing the task, as the weight of the glass panes proved fatal, crushing them as they worked.
Efforts to rescue the men were in vain, and they were pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind grieving families and a community in shock.
Police Investigation and Autopsy Process
Nairobi County police boss Adamson Bungei expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, highlighting the loss of two hardworking individuals who were simply trying to provide for their loved ones.
The bodies of the deceased were transported to the City Mortuary for further examination and autopsy, as authorities work to unravel the circumstances that led to this fatal accident.
