Authorities have confirmed the identity of the motorcyclist who tragically lost their life in a devastating crash in Muscatine County. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Kyle Dierks from Tipton, Iowa.

The incident occurred at 3:30 p.m. on Monday on Highway 38 in Muscatine County. According to the crash report, Dierks was travelling southbound on a 2022 Kawk Motorcycle, while 81-year-old Margaret Brown was driving a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder and 77-year-old Bruce Dagel was behind the wheel of a 2011 Jeep Liberty heading north.

The report states that Brown was attempting to make a westward turn at Brookview Road when Dierks collided with the Nissan. The impact caused the Nissan to come to a stop in the southbound lane of Highway 38.

Despite the collision, the motorcycle continued on and was subsequently struck by the Jeep before eventually coming to a halt in a nearby ditch. Tragically, Dierks was found in the roadway following the crash. The Jeep, on the other hand, came to a stop on the east shoulder of Highway 38.

Regrettably, Dierks succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. Another individual involved in the crash, identified as 82-year-old Gary Brown, was transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services for treatment of injuries sustained in the incident.

The Iowa State Patrol has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the cause of the tragic event.
